Skillection are proud to be working with this precision engineering company based in Cambridgeshire.

 

Day to day responsibilities-

Undertake a project using the job card as your main information point along with the initial job brief from management as required.

Check all materials for the project and allocate materials to your job as per the systems set by company.

To check your project masters/SLA’s are to size and appropriate to finish, they match data and images supplied.

Create silicone tooling from masters using the best practice and be too open perfecting techniques with the team and the manual.

Vac cast using machine and best practice.

Are first of castings to size and inserts in place and sitting in correct position.

Ensure records are kept of casting numbers and delivery quantities are correct.

Finish and spray models to the required specification, understand the finishes and quality expectations. Achieve all top coat spray finishes. 

Fill in details on job cards, findings, discoveries and produce colour swatches etc. relating to your job.

 Ensure Job card is returned to collection point, tooling and physical components are at archive point and workspace is clean.

Utilise manual to aid your existing knowledge and material choices.

Ensure any stock control is undertaken using the Re-order board.

Monitor the progress of your jobs both to delivery date and hours quoted, report issues at morning meeting.

Use CAD (Rhino) to modify client data as required and to create tooling.

Save CAD files into the data system to the ISO requirements.

Be active and open to share discoveries both in the morning meeting and ‘Knowledge Share’.

Communicate with all with respect and with the view to allow all to flourish and our group knowledge to grow. Contribute to the KPI team as required.

Actively fill in documentation to aid the process of KPI team. Have a clear understanding of your skills matrix, where your current strengths and weaknesses are so improvements can be made.

We work in many industries specialising in medical devices and have been trading for over 20 years.

We have two new Haas VF2 SS with one 4th axis and a CNC lathe and we need to employ a CNC programmer / operator, precision engineer to run these machines cutting all types of metals and plastics.

The position has a lot of scope to develop as the applicant will be responsible for all the whole department within our company from the quoting stage to the production of the parts. We have the potential to grow the department with success of the applicant and would like further staff to join their team. 

As the CNC machining department grows so would responsibilities and salary expectations.

 

Skills:

Importing IGES and STEP files.

Creating cutting paths and setting up and machining jobs using ideally Delcam Power Mill.

Quoting machining time.

Modifying files to create tools or modifications for files would be an advantage.

Solidworks experience would also be a great advantage.

 

The work would be varied and mostly one offs projects with limited repeat parts.
